Hunter Safety Course

Cost: Free for BRFGA members | $10 for non-members
Ages: 10 and up (Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)

🔸 Course Overview:

This full-day certified Hunter Safety Course satisfies Maine’s requirement for all first-time hunting license applicants. The course covers:

• Firearm safety and handling

• Hunting laws and regulations

• Wildlife identification

• Map reading and orienteering

• Ethics, responsibility, and conservation

• Range demonstration (live fire supervised by certified instructors)

🔸 What to Bring:

• Photo ID (or parent/guardian ID for youth)

• Notebook and pen

• Lunch and water bottle

• Dress for indoor & outdoor conditions

• Eye and ear protection (available on site if needed)
